Prof. John C. Mather

This year Prof. Sir. John C. Mather has received “Noble Prize” in physics. He is astrophysicist and the Nobel Prize was awarded because of his ‘COBE’ satellite mission which measured CMB precisely for the first time. He showed that the cosmic microwave background radiation has a blackbody spectrum within 50 ppm.

I have had a chance to meet him in a conference which I attended in May this year. He is project scientist of JWST and there were dedicated talks in the conference. I had a little chat with him, I am sure he won’t remember me but I am glad to exchange those few words with him. I wish sometime in future I will get a chance to meet him or perhaps work with him !!!

A very good luck for his JWST mission!
